Ford Recalled Mustang Mach-E over safety

A problem that can lead to a loss of power has led Ford to recall nearly 50,000 Mustang Mach-E electric vehicles.


Ford issued a stop-sale of electric Mustang Mach-E crossovers due to potential safety defect.


“Ford had to stop delivery of the 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E in mid-June because of an outstanding recall related to the 2021-22 models losing power while driving.

Flawed design rather than manufacturing problems led to the Ford Mach-E recall specifically, The powertrain was also noted as an area where Ford has had quality issues.


2022 Ford Mach-E Major Safety Recall


There was another recall in 2022 with the right rear halfshaft on the Ford Mach-E could break while driving. The transmission torque to the rear wheels of the Ford Mach-E will be lost if the right rear halfshaft breaks. The Ford Mach-E will then be unable to remain in park. To prevent unwanted and potentially dangerous rolling, the parking brake must be manually engaged until an inspection of the right rear halfshaft and any necessary repairs can be made to the Ford Mach-E
